Im in lesbians with Scott Pilgrim

Now Ive finally got my beloved XBox 360 back, I can finally get some blogging back on track. And where better to start off then with this piece of awesome-ness!!!

Scott Pilgrim VS The World: The Game

Oh yeah, thats right. Scott Pilgrim has arrived in pixel form with amigos Stephen Stills and Kim Pine, with love interest Ramona Flowers. You know from the start that this game is one for the retro and the geeks, specially the retro geeks. The game features old skool graphics by pixel artist Paul Robertson and a soundtrack that makes you think youre back in the old arcades with your old geekos. And of course the characters are based on Bryan Lee O'Malley's originals, so no nasty, tasteless knock offs.

The story of Scott Pilgrim VS The World follows geek slacker Scott who has to defeat Ramona's 7 evil exs in order to be her boyfriend. Dont you just hate it when that happens? Of course Scott is no push over and will do this for the woman he loves. Dont you lesbians it when that happens? Of course he isnt alone and can get help from Stephen, Ramona or Kim. I believe the game is alot more fun when you get your fellow geeks to help you out whislt you throw thugs, emos, aliens, etc in good old Streets of Rage style.

For just 800 Microsoft points you can have the awesome-ness that is Scott Pilgrim on your console to enjoy over and over. Make sure you get plenty of beers, snacks and Sex Bob-Omb shirts in before hand otherwise its a trip through subspace with Ramona. But sadly that only works in America and Canada :( Overall I would give this game a 7/10, mainly for the fun factor and the fact that its a total awesome geek fest of a game.

Hwy gamers. Sadly my XBox 360 of 2 years and 6 months passed away last Monday :( SHOCK, HORROR I hear you cry. And yes I wept alittle.

I do have other consoles I can play and I have been doing so, but I dont have enough time to blog about them as yet. Extra work with my job and getting the XBox sent off, etc.

So stay tuned.

Harry Potter goes Lego!

http://games.kidswb.com/official-site/lego-harry-potter/

As a fan of both the books and the movies, I can say Ive only played 1 Harry Potter game and that was Harry Potter POA for my Nintendo Gameboy Advance SP! Ive never played any of the HP games released as they didnt have the RPG element that the SP version gave. But after playing the demo for Lego Harry Potter, I fell in love with it.

The LEGO games have always given a fun factor to whichever movie it was based on, such as Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Im not a big Lego fan (all the years standing on it!) but the game applied more to me due to the fun and comical actions I had witnessed so far. Lego have worked well with Warner Bros to bring Harry, Hermione, Ron and company to our console in traditional Lego form.

The game is Years 1-4, which has me thinking that the 3 other books may follow? Lets hope so. Achievements are not the easist to unlock, so dont go buying it for achievement unlocking because this is an easy 1000G that some gamers may believe. Theres completing each year, collecting studs of all colours, bricks, buying spells and all the characters in game, as well as completing the game as Siruis, Quirrel or a mere muggle! And even an achievement that involves the player turning down the volume on the TV when Harry is in the library! Genius.

The one thing the devlopers also used is the Replay mode in which you can go back to previous levels and try and get the stud count up and use new spells on previously locked areas. Specially good when you miss an achievement or just a couple of studs. So it will keep Harry Potter adult and children fans alike entertained for a few magical weeks.

Im only on year 2, yes the levels are that long, and so far Im enjoying it. The game stays true to the series with the odd comical random moment and some scenes have been altered to fit in perfectly with the games timeline. Hopefully Harry Potter fans will give the game a chance and enjoy every magical Potter moment with a good chocolate frog and a bag of Every Flavour Beans! And I will give this game a Quidditch-ing 8/10.

Lost via Domus: Watch the numbers

http://lostgame.us.ubi.com/

Well I purchased this game by ABC couple weeks ago and sadly I havent completed it ... yet. There are 6 episodes in total, each can last for up to 20 minutes to 30. I guess it depends on how long it takes you to focus on taking photos and talking to the cast of the island.

And onto that cast. The voice acting has been done by others, so no you're not chatting to the real Jack or the real Locke. Im sure the cast could hjave taken time out to record for the game. But due to the schedule of the show at the time the game was made, its understandable why other voice actors were drafted in. I would have to say Charlie has to be the worst voice acting in the game. The actor sounds nothing like Dominic Monaghan at all. Some gamers and fans reckon Locke is the worse one voice, but after awhile I got use to it and could almost imagine Terry O'Quinn behind a mic. But to me, Charlie gets the Worst Voice in Lost achievement! 5G to him then.

The controls are easy to pick up, but the game is buggy as sin. The parts that annoyed me the most were the parts in the caves. Id have a torch lit or the lighter and yet I would somehow suddnely appear next to a giant hole and GAME OVER!!! ARGH. Yes, this does make me want to throw my controller down, but its done nothing wrong. So the game gets abuse instead.

I guess some people play it to rack up a better gamerscore. I myself grabbed it for £3.50 and had been interested for couple years. So thought why not. Or even being a born again Lost fan. The graphics arent the best, yet they arent the worst Ive experinced for an 360 game. To me it sadly feels like most of the movie/TV games that get made into video games and they end up failing. The Harry Potter games can be fun ... remember I did say most!

Overall, 4 episodes in, I would give it a 6/10. It has the feel of the Lost show, but can be made up for in other areas. Lost is a game that the Lost fans should at least experince, but would most probably end up hating it. But give it a shot folks.
